Pixies – Where is My Mind

Story time! One night a couple years back, we were listening to a local band play at a bar. They covered this song, and it was the first time we had heard it. Of course we were blown away; we didn’t know it was a cover.

We got the chance to talk to the guitarist after their gig, and we moronically asked him about the song. He laughed at us, and made sure to point out that it was this legendary Pixies song.

Long story short: you guys get to learn from our mistakes. Make sure you grab ‘Where is My Mind’; it gets covered regularly for a reason!

Album – Gorillaz: Plastic Beach

Finally, we get some new Gorillaz music! ‘Plastic Beach’ came out this week and we haven’t stopped listening to it since we picked it up. We can say from experience that the more you listen to the album, the more you’ll love it.

‘Plastic Beach’ is a deep album, with guest appearances from artists such as Snoop Dogg and the legendary Bobby Womack.
This is a great CD, grab it while it’s hot!

Queens of the Stone Age – Tangled Up in Plaid

‘Tangled Up in Plaid’ can be summed up as a perfect model of the (crudely named) stoner-rock genre. That laid-back riff, mixed with Josh Homme’s vocals flow so well together.

Be prepared to see QotSA quite a bit on this site; they never cease to impress us.
