No words are necessary to describe the awesomeness that waits below. This is good because it’s Wednesday and I’m a little tired. You see, I just finished a marathon and along the way I had to stop to save a beautiful woman from drowning. She’s over right now and I probably don’t need to tell you why I don’t feel like writing much.

I’m pretty sure that’s how my Wednesday went anyway. This short post definitely has nothing to do with caffeine withdrawals. No sir, definitely not.

For the past decade or so Finland has produced absolutely amazing music. HIM, Apocalyptica, The Rasmus, and Children of Bodom are all well known names originating from the tiny country.

Today we’ll add another band to that list, Bomfunk MC’s. They are a dance group formed in 1997 that has since fallen apart. Their best known song is Freestyler which despite having one of the worst music videos ever was the year 2000′s biggest selling single in Europe. The song is outrageously catchy and totally different from anything you’ve probably heard before. Check it out!

We have released our very first compilation album and it’s completely free!

At Best Music Ever it doesn’t go unnoticed how awesome modern rock and metal are. Regarding these two genres, one of the greatest things that has come about in the last decade has been the influx of female voices.

Evanescence, Flyleaf, and Nightwish are three perfect examples. I’ve already covered two of those bands and now it’s time to share the third!

Nightwish is a little different from the other two in that the vocals do not lead as much as they are a complimenting instrument. The singer lacks the raw power Amy Lee of Evanescence has, but that’s not to suggest they’re lacking. You’ll find that Nightwish’s music is heavier than Evanescence, heavier even than Flyleaf.

Nemo is a utterly unique song and I’m quite certain that you haven’t heard anything quite like it before. Let’s get it on!

P.S. Stay tuned for some news coming up later this weekend. Also, some updates are rolling out to the site this weekend so things are going to be a little wonky for an hour or two on Saturday evening. Just a heads up!

I’m just going to leave this here.

This is a 17 year old kid from Toronto rapping. Is he any good? This is Best Music Ever(.net), of course he is.

If there is one thing BestMusicEver(.net) loves it’s talent.

Finding musical talent and spreading the word is what this site is all about, and if the e-mails I’m getting from you all suggest anything it’s that I’m onto something.

Programs that pattern what you listen to and offer recommendations are pretty awesome, but in my experience nothing beats someone who can simply say, “You should check this out, it’s amazing.”

To the fans who take the time to e-mail in the music you love, thank you. Keep spreading the word.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

It’s confirmed, The Third Twin (TTT) is not Daft Punk nor is there any connection between the two groups. Not only are numerous websites reporting on this, I also reached out to the band for a comment. This is what their spokesperson said to me:

“TTT never have any link with [Daft Punk]. People link TTT with DP for a mistake of magazine.”

Okay so English isn’t his strong suit but he’s claiming that the band has been mistakingly correlated with Daft Punk. We’ll get back to that in a moment.

Daft Punk’s management has said,

It has been brought to the attention of Daft Punk’s management that the promoters for the Arenal Sound Festival in Spain have recently issued a press release in which they claim that a band called The Third Twin is “directly connected” to Daft Punk. This is completely untrue. Recent press reports are based on rumors instead of facts. Daft Punk is in no way associated with The Third Twin and the promoters for the Arenal Sound Festival are promoting the show under false pretenses. We would like to ensure Daft Punk’s audience is not taken advantage of by this fraudulently promoted show and strongly discourage anyone to buy tickets expecting Daft Punk to play at this festival, either as themselves or under any other pseudonym.

So why the big mix up? The Third Twin’s songs were initially released as a leaked Tron soundtrack on Youtube by an account named alexdaft26. Understandably this lead to much confusion. While it hasn’t been proven that there is a connection between the person who leaked the songs and the band, the leak does seem awfully convenient. Besides it’s not as if The Third Twin was particularly swift in claiming that they weren’t Daft.

So that’s it folks, The Third Twin is its own separate group which is completely unrelated to Daft Punk. Their music is still great though, so give them a listen.

For months my housemate has been pestering me to listen to Haarp, Muse’s live album. That’s no exaggeration, he really has been bugging me since the fall:

“Justin have you listened to Haarp before? You need to listen to it.”
“Have you listened to it yet? It’s seriously great.”
“Dude, months have passed since I told you about Haarp. When are you going to listen to it?”

Finally, right before the calendar turned to February, I gave it a listen. You know what? It really is amazing. This is one of the few albums where I can definitively state that the live version is as good as the studio recording. What makes Haarp so brilliant is that Muse plays the songs we know and love but switches them up just enough that everything is unique. Really it’s a masterpiece.

If you enjoy Muse and live music don’t even hesitate to click on the album art to be taken to Amazon.

It’s Wednesday! We’re halfway through the week and fatigue is starting to build. It only seems right that you enjoy something beautiful right now, so have at it. For the fans of Grey’s Anatomy this was a part of last season’s soundtrack.
