E.S. Posthumus was hands down one of the best groups of the past decade. Unfortunately that’s a past tense statement because they’re no longer producing music – one of the two members died not that long ago. Very sad.
The last album they created is called Makara. Like their previous albums Makara’s sound is classical symphonic updated with a modern twist – a drum line and a healthy dose of “epicness.”
If you haven’t listened to E.S. Posthumus yet you really should and Makara is a great place to start. It is an amazing piece of work. If you enjoy instrumental music or movie soundtracks you’ll love this album.
It’s time for some bad romance Lady Gaga fans. BestMusicEver(.net) is is about to suggest that your faith in all that is Gaga may be misguided.
Before we dive in we want to say that we’re not crapping on her music. We don’t do that here. That said, if you’re a fan who thinks Lady Gaga shows who she really is and is just a “different and unique person” then we’re talking to you.
It was a few short weeks ago that Justin was involved in a conversation that went something like this:
Gaga Fan: “…I love Lady Gaga, she’s so amazing. I like that she’s unique and doesn’t care about social conventions and will just be herself.” Justin: “You’re kidding, right?” Gaga Fan: “No she’s wicked. She is just herself and it’s wonderful.” Justin: …
It is absolutely possible that Lady Gaga is this unique and that she’s simply showing who she really is. However we think the odds of this being true are rather slim.
Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour was possibly the most visually spectacular electronic music show we’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, not in person, but from what we’ve seen around the net, it was stellar. Oh, And the music obviously was awesome too!
The Encore that was recorded for their Alive 2007 CD was a mash-up of their songs Human After All, Together, and One More Time. They also managed to squeeze in Stardust’s Music Sounds Better with You too! Best. Encore. Ever.
‘Alice’ is an amazing chill-out song composed of vocal clips from the Disney classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’. We stumbled on this beauty back in ’07 when Pogo first released it and luckily we remembered the tune and found it again!
Pogo’s also updated ‘Alice’ with an extended version that he has “for sale” on his page. Instead of having a set price for each of his songs, he’s allowing us to pay however much we want with a “name your price” space. Don’tcha wish everything was sold like that? Enjoy!
Merry Christmas music fans! We hope you’ve had a wonderful day filled with awesome presents, great food, and minimal family fighting.
We’ll be back in the New Year with a series of articles on…well, actually it’s a surprise. Just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean you get to find out everything all at once!
While everybody else is talking about the new 30 Seconds To Mars music video (which is very sexual, hence the discussion), we’re going to share another video they’ve done for a truly great song. Have at it!
This year we have just one wish: please rid the world of Christmas carols. Thanks a lot!
Justin and Evan of BestMusicEver(.net)”
We don’t mean to put a damper on the Christmas spirit but in all seriousness we don’t think we can take another season of Christmas carols.
We’re not sure who signed us up for a lifetime of listening to the same songs over and over but we really wish we could opt out. We don’t mind tradition but as men in our early twenties the thought of sixty more years of “Jingle Bells” is almost terrifying.
Imagine making an album when you were 16 years old where you were the lead singer, wrote the lyrics, co-wrote the songs, and played a little guitar. Now imagine that you created the album while concurrently shooting episodes for a popular TV show…and for good measure let’s say you graduated from high school when you were 14 years old.
That’s what Taylor Momsen has done and in all honesty it’s bloody incredible. Here’s the thing though, even though she’s 16 her music is genuinely good and she sings with a maturity and skill far beyond her age. Check it out.
If we asked you to put on some soothing music that featured acoustic guitar what would you play?
If you’re under 40 we’d put money on you choosing Jack Johnson. This is great because he makes amazing music, but what if we asked you to pick another relatively recent artist? Could you come up with one from the last decade or two?
Most of the people we talk to would struggle to name another player-of-the-super-chill-acoustic-music which is why we’re introducing you to Joseph Arthur and his fantastic song Honey and the Moon. It’s gold, so definitely go check it out.
P.S. We definitely didn’t discover this song years ago while watching The OC. Nope, definitely not.
